The film, whose world premiere is scheduled for January 5, 2024, tells the story of the heated confrontation between two rally stars of the 80s: Lancia 037 and Audi Quattro. At that time, Audi was conquering the world by leaps and bounds with its Quattro all-wheel drive, while Lancia continued to stubbornly cling to the classic rear-wheel drive. The film, as one might expect, will become an ideological successor to “Ford v Ferrari,” focusing on chronology while simultaneously revealing artistic images of real-life racers.

The events of the biographical drama unfold around the fateful decision of one of the most famous automotive figures in the world - Enzo Ferrari. Decimated by the death of his son and the downward spiral of his own car company, Enzo decides to take part in the team's participation in the main race in Italy of those times - the Mille Miglia. As a result, the risk was justified, and the Scuderia Ferrari pilots took all three places on the podium of the prestigious competition. It is noteworthy that director Michael Mann is personally acquainted with the Ferrari family. Thanks to this, real collectible examples of the rarest cars of those years are used in many scenes.

A magnificent historical painting in the artistic genre. The authors managed to harmoniously combine the historical-narrative part (the film is, in fact, a biography-chronology) with artistic production. The narrative is built around the irreconcilable competition between the two main giants of the racing industry of the time. Competition both on the track, between team drivers, and in life, between key figures in the person of Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford II. It is highly recommended for all connoisseurs of automotive history, racing, as well as the Ferrari and Ford brands in particular.

Action adventure with a heavy emphasis on music. At the center of the story is an audiophile guy who does not part with his favorite music even during robberies in which he acts as a “driver.” The plot develops from the routine work of a reckless master to attempts to leave the gang without setting up his beloved girl. To do this, the main character will have to complete the last and most difficult task. The film is notable for the fact that high-quality musical compositions are perfectly woven into the intense scenes of chases, shootouts and other attributes of the genre.

Kinopoisk rating: 5.9

Not a bad film about illegal racing. Notable for its rather unusual approach to the genre. Unlike classic films about “cool street racing”, where the action takes place in the form of short night races along city streets, the “Norwegian version” offers to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a multi-day endurance race. The characters' fatigue from constant driving, worries about their friends, and the fury of competition are well conveyed. Everything that happens is seasoned with a bit of peculiar Scandinavian humor. Those tired of Hollywood clones of "fast and furious" may like it.

Chris Hemsworth
Daniel Bruhl
Olivia Wilde

Pierfrancesco Favino
Kinopoisk rating: 8.1

The film is based on the real biographies of the most famous Formula 1 racers of the 70s Niki Lauda and James Hunt. By

The atmosphere of “Race” is somewhat similar to “Ford v Ferrari”, but with a greater emphasis on drama and personal stories of the main characters. In particular, the plot describes Lauda's difficult path from the beginning of his career in the Ferrari team to triumph, despite the famous disaster at the Nurburgring. In addition to the personal stories of Lauda and Hunt, their ruthless confrontation on the track plays a large part in the plot.

Actors:
Aaron Paul
Dominic Cooper
Imogen Poots
Dakota Johnson
Michael Keaton
Kinopoisk rating 6.8

Classic Hollywood shoot-'em-up racing games with a predictable plot and a lot of cliches. On the other hand, the film compares favorably with the notorious “fast and furious” films of the last decade due to the abundance of cars in the frame and the racing process itself. In order to stir up audience interest in the film “Need for Speed,” Electronic Arts, the owner of the eponymous brand of a series of computer games about racing, had a hand. As a result, the result was not particularly outstanding in artistic terms, but it was entertaining with its juicy pictures and interesting cars.

8. Gran Torino (2008)

Country:USA, Germany
Director: Clint Eastwood
Actors:
Clint Eastwood
Bi Wang
Christopher Carley
Eni Hi
Brian Haley
Kinopoisk rating 8.1

The story tells about the confrontation of the main character - a lonely elderly social phobe - with street gangs who tried to steal his beloved Ford Gran Torino. The plot will take the viewer from the character’s everyday conflict with hooligans and the rescue of a teenager to a real street war. During the course of the story, the story of the unsociable Korean War veteran is gradually revealed, and many side scenes highlight not so much the conflict with the antagonists as the character of the main character. A good action-drama, although the name of the film and even the Ford Gran Torino on the poster have little in common with the outline of the picture.

Actors:
Jason Statham
Joan Allen
Ian McShane
Tyrese Gibson
Natalie Martinez
Kinopoisk rating 7.1

A fantastic action game for those who like to spend time in front of a quick, bright picture on the screen. The simple plot tells the story of another evil corporation exploiting death row prisoners for the amusement of a multi-million audience. Death Race takes this fun and puts it into a survival race setting. The task of the innocently convicted protagonist is to remain the last survivor in a series of races in armored, heavily armed vehicles. And be released, revealing to the world all the ins and outs of the corporation. An ordinary colorful action movie. Suitable for those who just want to relax without going into the vicissitudes of complex scenario moves.

10. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Country: Australia
Director: George Miller
Actors:
Tom Hardy
Charlize Theron
Nicholas Hoult
Hugh Keays-Byrne
Josh Helman
Kinopoisk rating 7.8

In spirit, the film is somewhat reminiscent of “Death Race”: cars with a post-apocalyptic style, the hopeless situation of the main character and the high speeds at which the main action takes place. The plot partially echoes the comic book “Fury Road”, the game Mad Max and, in general, can claim some originality. The despot of the local desert has seized all the available water and made it into a valuable currency, and keeps people in the Citadel as a nutritional and reproductive resource. The main character managed to escape and met other fugitives on the way - girls on a huge armored truck. On the way to the saving “Green Lands” they will have to fight hordes of enemies without slowing down at a frantic pace.

11. Superfast and furious! (2014)

Country: USA
Director: Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer
Actors:
Alex Aschbauch
Dale Pavinsky
Lily Mirojnick
Andrea Navedo
Daniel Booko
Kinopoisk rating 4.8

A parody of the first part of the famous racing blockbuster Fast and the Furious. The humor is quite greasy in places (albeit without excesses), but the cast of actors is well executed, sometimes very accurately putting the absurdities of Hollywood clichés in general and “Fast and the Furious” in particular on display. The main plot of the comedy generally follows the original source. However, given the parodic outline, it hardly makes sense to compare them directly. As with any parody, “Super Fast and the Furious” will be appreciated first of all by those who are familiar with the original film.

12. Fast and Furious (2001)

Country:USA, Germany
Director: Rob Cohen
Actors:
Paul Walker
Vin Diesel
Michelle Rodriguez
Jordana Brewster
Matt Schulze
Kinopoisk rating 7.8

Perhaps the most famous street racing brand in the world. In this case, we are not talking specifically about the first part of “Fast and Furious,” but about the franchise as a whole. However, if the viewer is not yet familiar with the series, then start

better since the very first film (which is simply “Fast and Furious”). Otherwise, viewing the creations of recent years may completely discourage the desire to meet others. There is a minimum of actual racing and cool cars, but there is tons of outright absurdity and a descent into children's action films about superheroes. However, the first three or four parts of “The Fast and the Furious” really left a significant mark on the genre, and car fans are definitely worth checking out.
